The facility serves as the primary aviation installation for the region. It is operated by Aeropuertos del Perú, a private entity that manages several airports in northern Peru. Current flight operations include services by JetSmart, LATAM Perú, and Sky Airline. The installation has supported Peruvian Air Force operations, including the use of Antonov 32 transport aircraft.
