Description
Rtishchevo is an air base located 6 km northwest of Rtishchevo, Russia. It is operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces and owned by the Ministry of Defence. The base functions as a training facility, primarily for Let L-410UVP-E Turbolet aircraft. The main unit stationed at the base is the 666th Training Aviation Regiment, which is part of the 786th Aviation Training Centre for the Training of Flight Personnel. Historically, as of 1990, the 666th Training Aviation Regiment at Rtishchevo was associated with the Balashov Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots, under the Air Forces of the Volga-Ural Military District. Few structures are noted near the airfield.
