Description
Zadar Airport is located in Zemunik Donji, Croatia. Commercial flight operations at the site began in 1936 under Ala Littoria when the area was part of the Italian Province of Zara. The airport infrastructure previously featured a taxiway that intersected a public road; this road was closed in 2010 and reopened in 2020 following the completion of an underpass.
The installation functions as a dual-use public and military facility. It serves as the main training base for the Croatian Air Force and formerly hosted the Lufthansa InterCockpit flight school. Zadar Airport Ltd. operates the civilian infrastructure. The airport hosts a Ryanair base, established in 2013, and a Lauda Europe base, established in 2021. Stationed aircraft types include Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 series.
