Description
Commissioned on 11 June 2025, completing the Russian Navy's Project 636.3 Varshavyanka-class programme. Built at Admiralty Shipyards in Saint Petersburg and commissioned just seven months after launch, Yakutsk was inducted into the Pacific Fleet. Measuring 73 metres with a submerged displacement exceeding 3,000 tonnes, the submarine carries Kalibr-PL cruise missiles and features advanced acoustic stealth enhancements that earned the NATO nickname Black Hole. Yakutsk is the twelfth and final Improved Kilo built for the Russian Navy, completing the six-boat Pacific Fleet batch.
