Description
Sunk at Bandar Abbas Naval Harbor during the opening strikes of Operation Epic Fury on the night of 28 February 2026. Satellite imagery published by TWZ on the same day confirmed an Alvand-class frigate ablaze at pier. Lead ship of the Alvand class, originally built by Vosper Thornycroft in the UK and launched in 1968 as IRIS Saam. Renamed after the Iranian Revolution, Alvand served for over 55 years and was the sole operational unit of her class at the time of her loss. Armed with eight C-802 anti-ship missiles and a 4.5-inch Mark 8 gun.
