Iran Alvand Fleet Update

Sunk at Bandar Abbas Naval Harbor during the opening strikes of Operation Epic Fury on the night of 28 February 2026. Satellite imagery from 2 March showed the frigate likely sunk at her berth. British-built Alvand-class frigate launched in 1969 by Vickers at Barrow-in-Furness. Sabalan was severely damaged during Operation Praying Mantis in April 1988, when a U.S. A-6 Intruder dropped a laser-guided bomb into her smokestack, but was repaired and returned to service.
