Description
Fifth Nilgiri-class guided-missile frigate and second built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, delivered to the Indian Navy on 31 March 2026 at Kolkata. Part of a historic triple delivery alongside survey vessel Sanshodhak and ASW craft Agray. The 6,670-tonne stealth frigate features a CODOG propulsion system, BrahMos anti-ship cruise missiles, Barak 8 air defence missiles, and an IAI MF-STAR AESA radar. Laid down in January 2020 and launched in July 2022, with over 75% indigenous content.
