Description
Fourth Nilgiri-class guided-missile frigate and third built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, commissioned into the Indian Navy on 3 April 2026 at Visakhapatnam. The 6,670-tonne stealth frigate features a CODOG propulsion system, BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, Barak 8 medium-range air defence missiles, and an IAI MF-STAR AESA radar. Laid down in September 2020 and launched in September 2022, with indigenous content exceeding 75%.
