On February 6, 2025, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Mirage 2000TH/TI trainer aircraft crashed in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. The aircraft, operating from Gwalior Airbase on a routine training sortie, experienced a critical system malfunction that led to the accident. Both pilots successfully executed emergency ejections and sustained only minor injuries. The crash resulted in the loss of one airframe from the IAF’s active inventory. Following the event, the Indian Air Force officially ordered a Court of Inquiry to investigate the technical cause of the malfunction and the circumstances surrounding the loss.
