Description
On June 9, 2025, the Bulgarian Air Force expanded its fleet with the arrival of its second F-16 Block 70 (F-16V) fighter at Graf Ignatievo Air Base. This delivery marks a +1 increase in active airframe inventory and a -1 reduction in the current order backlog. The single-seat combat aircraft, designated tail number 313, follows the delivery of a twin-seat trainer in April. Part of a U.S. Foreign Military Sales contract for 16 jets, this acquisition is central to Bulgaria’s modernization of its air combat capabilities. The Ministry of Defense expects to receive the remaining six aircraft of the initial order by late 2025.
