Description
On October 3, 2025, the Australian Army Aviation Command received its first two Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters at RAAF Base Townsville. This delivery marks the initial activation of a 29-aircraft order designed to enhance the Australian Defence Force's battlefield dominance and interoperability with allied nations. The AH-64E "Guardian" features advanced digital connectivity and sensor suites, representing a significant technical upgrade for the fleet. With these two airframes now active, the remaining order is reduced by two, with full delivery slated for 2029. The program is supported by a seven-year sustainment contract to develop sovereign maintenance expertise.
