Description
On October 3, 2025, the Bulgarian Air Force received two additional F-16V (Block 70) fighters, increasing its active fleet and reducing the outstanding order by two units. These aircraft feature the APG-83 AESA radar, which shares high commonality with F-35 systems. Technical specifications include conformal fuel tanks, a modernized digital cockpit, a 12,000-hour service life, and the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (AutoGCAS). This delivery bolsters Bulgaria’s air defense and NATO interoperability. The arrival marks a key milestone in fulfilling the initial contract for eight aircraft, with a full 16-jet squadron expected by late 2027.
