Description
The U.S. Air Force's first production-representative T-7A Red Hawk, aircraft APT-5, was delivered on 5 December 2025 to Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, for Air Education and Training Command. Boeing's January 2026 induction report says the aircraft became the first T-7A assigned to the 99th Flying Training Squadron and the first Red Hawk officially transferred into Air Force service. The delivery marked the start of replacing the T-38 Talon after nearly 65 years as the USAF's advanced trainer. The T-7A is intended to modernize pilot training with digital avionics, fly-by-wire controls and a training architecture better aligned with current fighter and bomber requirements.
