Description
The Belarusian Ministry of Defence confirmed receipt of two additional Su-30SM2 Flanker-H fighters on 29 January 2026, delivered to the 61st Fighter Air Base at Baranovichi. The new-build aircraft, produced by Russia's United Aircraft Corporation, bring the Belarusian Flanker-H fleet to eight, forming a full-strength squadron. Belarus began receiving Su-30SM2s in May 2025 and has taken delivery of four batches of two aircraft each. The Su-30SM2 features upgraded AL-41F-1S engines offering higher thrust and improved fuel efficiency over the older Su-30SM. Belarus plans to form two full Su-30SM/SM2 squadrons.
