Description
Two Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force C-130H Hercules transport aircraft were destroyed on the ground at Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport during the opening strikes of Operation Epic Fury. Satellite imagery analyzed by Vantor and published on March 6 showed both aircraft burned and heavily damaged on the military ramp. The same strike wave also destroyed two IRGC Su-22M4 fighters and an Il-76MD at the airport. Shiraz serves as a dual-use civil-military facility and is one of the IRIAF's major logistics hubs in southern Iran.
