Description
A Harbin Y-12 light transport aircraft belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was destroyed in Israeli airstrikes on Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran, on March 7, 2026. The aircraft was identified from video footage showing the aftermath of the strikes, with its distinctive tail section visible among the wreckage. It was among 17 aircraft confirmed destroyed by satellite imagery at the airport. The IDF described Mehrabad as a central hub used by the IRGC Quds Force for arming and funding proxy forces across the Middle East, with aircraft regularly departing loaded with weapons and cash for Hezbollah and other organizations.
