Description
Two Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force Boeing 707 aircraft were destroyed at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran during a coordinated Israeli airstrike on the night of March 7, 2026. The attack targeted multiple aircraft parked across the airport, including military and IRGC-operated transport and cargo planes. The 707s, used primarily as aerial refueling tankers and VIP transports, were identified from commercial satellite imagery that emerged in the days following the strike. The same attack wave also destroyed three Boeing 747 cargo aircraft, three IRGC Ilyushin Il-76 transports, and a Harbin Y-12, among other aircraft at the airport.
