Description
A United States Air Force KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft was destroyed during the Iranian missile and drone strike on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, on March 27, 2026. The loss was confirmed by commercial satellite imagery released on April 8, which showed the aircraft airframe burned out on the flight line. The KC-46A was part of the same attack that destroyed an E-3G Sentry AWACS and a KC-135R Stratotanker. This was the first combat loss of a KC-46A Pegasus, which entered USAF service in 2019 as the replacement for the aging KC-135 fleet.
