Description
The PP-93 submachine gun was developed in the 1990s at the KBP Instrument Design Bureau in Tula, as a non-folding version of the earlier PP-90 clandestine submachine gun. It was intended for use by security and law enforcement units.
Operating on the blowback principle, the PP-93 provides both single fire and full automatic fire modes, with a rate of fire of 600-700 rounds per minute and a listed useful range of 100 meters. The design incorporates options for mounting a detachable silencer (G-PP-93) and a laser sight (LP-93).
The PP-93 is used in:
Russia, by rapid response units of riot police (OMON) and other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Belarus, with its special forces.
Mongolia, within its Special Forces units.
