Description
A Leonardo AW139M of Panama's National Aeronaval Service helicopter squadron crashed in mountainous terrain in the Coclesito range, in Ola district of Cocle province, while flying a relief and resupply mission to aeronaval outposts on the Caribbean coast. The aircraft was reported missing around midday, and search teams supported by four helicopters located the wreckage the following day. Panama's security ministry confirmed that all three crew members, a pilot, a co-pilot and a technician, had died. The AW139 is the largest helicopter in the service's fleet, used for maritime patrol, transport and disaster relief across the isthmus.
