Description
A Mexican Air Force Bell 412 of Aerial Squadron 104 crashed near El Ventoso, in the mountains of Durango, while repositioning from San Jose del Llano to the municipality of Canelas. Mexico's defence ministry said all three crew members aboard were killed and assigned investigators to determine the cause. The Bell 412 is one of the Mexican armed forces' standard medium utility helicopters, used for troop transport, resupply and counter-narcotics work across the Sierra Madre Occidental, where high terrain and rapidly changing weather have contributed to repeated losses of military rotary-wing aircraft.
