Israel Air and Space Force Hermes 450 Shot down

Hezbollah said early on 22 April 2024 that it had shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 over the Lebanese town of Aaichiyeh, about 13 km from the Israeli border, and released video of the interception. The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged that a drone had been downed by a surface-to-air missile, according to The Times of Israel, which described it as the third such incident since February. The Hermes 450, known in Israeli service as the Zik, is a medium-altitude reconnaissance drone used extensively over Lebanon during the border fighting with Hezbollah.
