Pakistan Air Force K-8 Crash

A Karakorum K-8P jet trainer of the Pakistan Air Force crashed at Risalpur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was destroyed. The sole pilot on board was killed. Risalpur hosts the PAF Academy, where the K-8 serves as the primary jet trainer for cadets progressing from turboprop types. The Chinese-Pakistani K-8, built locally as part of a joint programme with Hongdu, forms the backbone of Pakistani advanced flying training. No cause was announced at the time.
