Russian Air Force Su-34 Crash

A Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed during a training flight in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast following a suspected mechanical failure. Both crew members ejected safely. The Su-34 has borne much of the Russian tactical strike effort over Ukraine, delivering glide bombs fitted with UMPK kits, and the fleet has suffered steady losses to Ukrainian air defences alongside non-combat accidents. Production continues at Novosibirsk, though at rates below the pace of attrition in the heaviest periods.
