Kazakhstan Air Force H145 Crash

A Eurocopter EC145 of the Kazakh Air Defence Forces crashed into Lake Sorbulak in Almaty Region, killing all three occupants. Kazakhstan operates the EC145 and its H145 successor under a long-running partnership with Airbus Helicopters that includes local assembly, and the type is used for utility transport, medical evacuation and border patrol across the country vast interior. The lake, a wastewater reservoir north of Almaty, complicated recovery operations.
