Description
On December 23, 2025, a Dassault Falcon 50 carrying a high-level Libyan military delegation crashed near Ankara, Turkey, killing the Chief of the General Staff and several senior commanders. The aircraft departed Esenboga Airport but reported an electrical fault 40 minutes into the flight. Preliminary findings by Turkish authorities indicate a technical failure led to the crash near Kesikkavak. The delegation was in Ankara for strategic defense talks aimed at enhancing military cooperation, occurring shortly after the Turkish parliament approved a two-year extension for military forces deployed in Libya.
