Portuguese Air Force C-390 Delivered

Embraer delivered the fourth KC-390 Millennium for the Portuguese Air Force on 23 January 2026 at Gavião Peixoto, Brazil, two months ahead of the contractual date. It is the first Portuguese aircraft fitted with the aerial refuelling kit of roll-on/roll-off fuel tanks and wing-mounted pods, giving the service an organic air-to-air refuelling capability for the first time. The aircraft joins Esquadra 506 at Air Base No. 11, Beja. Portugal, the first export customer and first NATO member to select the type, has six aircraft on firm order, with options for up to ten more intended for partner nations.
