Description
A Vietnamese People's Air Force Yak-130 trainer crashed into Hòn Vinh mountain in Đông Hoa ward, Đắk Lắk Province, on the morning of January 28, 2026. The pilot, assigned to Air Regiment 940 of the Air Force Officer College, took off at 7:27 AM and reported a technical malfunction at 7:44 AM, losing radio contact. Unable to restore aircraft control, the pilot maneuvered the aircraft away from residential areas and ejected successfully. He landed safely and was transported to hospital with stabilized condition. No civilians were injured and no ground infrastructure was damaged. Authorities launched an investigation into the cause.
