Republic of China Air Force MQ-9B SkyGuardian Delivered

Taiwan took formal delivery of the first two of four MQ-9B SkyGuardian drones at a ceremony in the United States on 17 March 2026, attended by a vice defence minister; the Ministry of National Defense did not disclose the location. The aircraft were then shipped to Taiwan, where the Taipei Times reported their arrival in June for assembly and flight testing by General Atomics and the Republic of China Air Force before service entry. The remaining two aircraft are due in 2027. The long-endurance drones are intended for maritime surveillance around the island, including monitoring of People's Liberation Army activity.
