A United States Air Force F-35A Lightning II crashed during a routine training mission over the Nevada Test and Training Range on March 31. The pilot from Nellis Air Force Base safely ejected and sustained only minor injuries. The aircraft went down approximately 25 miles northeast of Indian Springs, Nevada, within restricted federal airspace. No civilian areas were affected by the crash.
