Description
Five United States Air Force KC-135R Stratotanker aerial refueling aircraft sustained moderate damage during an Iranian ballistic missile and drone strike on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, on March 13, 2026. The tankers were parked on the flight line when fragments from intercepted and impacting munitions caused structural damage to the airframes. Initial assessments indicated all five aircraft were repairable but would require depot-level maintenance. The attack was part of Iran retaliatory strikes against U.S. forces in the region during Operation Epic Fury.
