Description
A United States Army HH-60M medevac Black Hawk helicopter assigned to the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade was damaged by a first-person-view drone launched by an Iraqi militia at Camp Victory near Baghdad on March 23, 2026. The FPV drone struck the helicopter tail boom while the aircraft was parked on the ground. The damage was assessed as repairable. No personnel were injured in the attack. The incident illustrated the growing threat of small commercial drones modified for military use against U.S. forward-deployed rotary-wing assets in the region.
