Description

A United States Air Force HH-60W Jolly Green II and a UH-60M Black Hawk were damaged by Iranian ground fire during the combat search and rescue operation to recover the F-15E Strike Eagle crew near Isfahan, Iran, on April 3, 2026. Both helicopters sustained hits but remained flyable, and their crews were injured but continued the mission. The helicopters returned to base under their own power. The rescue operation, which also resulted in the deliberate destruction of two MC-130J aircraft and four MH-6 Little Birds, successfully extracted both downed F-15E crew members.
