Description
Two Sukhoi Su-57 Felon fifth-generation stealth fighters were damaged in a Ukrainian long-range drone strike on Shagol airbase in Chelyabinsk Oblast on 25 April 2026, with the operation announced by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces on 1 May. The base sits roughly 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border, marking the deepest confirmed strike of its kind to date. Commercial satellite imagery published after the raid showed damage to four Russian aircraft including the two Su-57s, and confirmed that several airframes had been towed from their parking spots — a movement pattern consistent with damage assessment and recovery work rather than total write-offs.
