Description
A Sukhoi Su-34 Fullback fighter-bomber was damaged in the same Ukrainian long-range drone raid on Shagol airbase in Chelyabinsk Oblast on 25 April 2026. The Russian Aerospace Forces rely on the Su-34 as the primary delivery platform for guided glide bombs against Ukrainian targets. Satellite imagery analysed by independent observers confirmed visible damage to one Su-34 and showed the airframe relocated from its original parking position after the strike, consistent with repair or damage assessment activity. Russia did not officially acknowledge the loss; Ukraine's General Staff and the commander of its Unmanned Systems Forces published the assessment on 1 May.
