Hungarian Air Force Gripen C Delivered

Saab delivered the first two of four new-build JAS 39 Gripen C fighters to the Hungarian Defence Forces, with the pair landing at Kecskemét air base on 29 April 2026 and a formal handover ceremony held the following day. Carrying service registrations 45 and 46, the single-seat fighters are operated by the 101st Aviation Wing and join an existing fleet of 12 Gripen Cs and two Gripen D trainers. The remaining two aircraft from the February 2024 order are scheduled for delivery by the end of June 2026, bringing Hungary's Gripen fleet to 18 airframes equipped with the latest C/D-standard upgrades.
