Hungarian Air Force Gripen C Delivered

Two new-build JAS 39 Gripen C fighters landed at Kecskemét Air Base on 23 June 2026, completing deliveries under the contract amendment signed by Sweden's defence materiel administration FMV and the Hungarian Ministry of Defence in January 2024, Saab said in a statement the following day. The pair follows the first two aircraft of the order, delivered on 29 April. The deliveries bring the Hungarian Air Force to the 18 Gripen C/D of its planned fleet, 16 single-seat C and two two-seat D, before the loss of a Gripen C near Szolnok on 24 August 2026.
