Description
The Uganda People's Defence Forces Air Force commissioned a Let L-410 NG twin turboprop at Entebbe Air Base on 10 July 2026, in a ceremony led by the Chief of Defence Forces. Supplied by the Czech group Omnipol, which took over Aircraft Industries in 2022, the aircraft arrived two months ahead of the contract schedule. Powered by two GE H85-200 engines, it can be configured for nineteen passengers, six stretcher and three seated casualties, cargo or paratroop dropping, and needs about 590 metres of runway. It is the first L-410 in Ugandan military service, adding light airlift and medical evacuation capacity.
