Description
Fargo Air National Guard Base is a United States Air National Guard facility situated at Hector International Airport in Fargo, North Dakota. The base was established on January 16, 1947, at Hector Airport and has been operational since its inception. It is owned by the Department of Defense and operated by the US Air Force, under the control of the North Dakota Air National Guard. The current commander is Colonel Darrin K Anderson.
The primary unit stationed at Fargo ANGB is the 119th Wing, which operates the MQ-9A Reaper. Subordinate units include the 119th Operations Group, 119th Maintenance Squadron, 119th Operations Support Squadron, and the 178th Attack Squadron, which specifically operates the MQ-9A Reaper. Other units include the 119th Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance Group (comprising the 176th, 177th, and 119th Intelligence Support Squadrons), the 119th Medical Group, and the 119th Mission Support Group (including Civil Engineering, Force Support, Logistics Readiness, and Security Forces Squadrons).
The airfield, shared with Hector International Airport, is located at coordinates 46°55′14″N 096°48′57″W and has an elevation of 274 meters (901 ft) above mean sea level. It features three concrete runways: 18/36, measuring 2,743.2 meters (9,000 ft); 9/27, measuring 1,920.8 meters (6,302 ft); and 13/31, measuring 1,158.5 meters (3,801 ft).
