Description
Fargo Air National Guard Base is a United States Air Force facility located at Hector International Airport in Fargo, North Dakota. The installation is owned by the Department of Defense and controlled by the North Dakota Air National Guard. The site was built in 1947, and the North Dakota Air National Guard was officially established at the location on January 16, 1947.
The base hosts the 119th Wing, which operates the MQ-9A Reaper. The wing’s primary flying unit is the 178th Attack Squadron, supported by the 119th Operations Group, the 119th Maintenance Squadron, and the 119th Operations Support Squadron.
Fargo Air National Guard Base also serves as a center for intelligence operations, housing the 119th Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance Group. This group includes the 176th Intelligence Squadron, the 177th Intelligence Squadron, and the 119th Intelligence Support Squadron.
Other stationed units include the 119th Medical Group and the 119th Mission Support Group. The latter maintains the 119th Civil Engineering Squadron, the 119th Force Support Squadron, the 119th Logistics Readiness Squadron, and the 119th Security Forces Squadron. The base shares airfield infrastructure with Hector International Airport and maintains logistical capabilities for the movement of specialized equipment, such as Disaster Relief Beddown Set (DRBS) containers.
