Description
Shuozhou Huairen Airport, also known as Huairen Air Base, is a People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLA-AF) installation situated in Huairen, Shuozhou, Shanxi province, China. It is located near the Fen River, 43 km south of Datong, and falls within the PLA Beijing Military Region. The facility previously functioned as the primary public airport for Datong until it was superseded by Datong Yungang Airport in 2006. Currently, it serves as the headquarters for the PLA-AF 15th Fighter Division, which operates Chengdu J-7 fighters and Nanchang Q-5 ground attack aircraft. The air base features a single runway oriented NE/SW and a full-length parallel taxiway connected to revetments at both ends of the field.
