Description
King Saud Air Base is a Royal Saudi Air Force installation located in Hafr Al-Batin, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Situated approximately 60 km north of King Khalid Military City, the base has been in active use since 1963. The facility is owned by the Ministry of Defense and is controlled by RSAF 4 Wing.
Current operations at the base involve multiple squadrons. RSAF 4 Wing maintains a presence at the site with No. 7 Squadron, which operates Panavia Tornado IDS aircraft. No. 92 Squadron is also stationed at the base, operating McDonnell Douglas F-15S Strike Eagle and F-15SA multirole fighters. Rotary-wing capabilities are provided by No. 12 Squadron, which operates the AB 212.
