Description
Osijek Airport, also known as Klisa, is located in Klisa, Croatia, 20 km east-southeast of Osijek. Situated halfway between Osijek and Vukovar near the D2 state road, the facility was established in 1980.
Osijek Airport Ltd. operates the facility, which serves as an international airport for the Osijek and Vukovar regions. Although it handles public passenger traffic, the facility was constructed with a primary focus on cargo operations to leverage its position within the regional transport network, including the Corridor Vc infrastructure. Current flight operations include scheduled services by Croatia Airlines and Ryanair, which operate flights to Munich and London-Stansted, alongside seasonal domestic routes to Dubrovnik and Split.
The infrastructure includes a passenger terminal equipped for domestic and international traffic, featuring dedicated customs and passport control facilities. The airport’s apron is configured to handle large freighter aircraft, including the Boeing 747 and Airbus A330. A secondary airfield, Čepin, is located southwest of the city center and is used for private and sport aviation.
