Description

The HGK is a precision guidance system of Turkish origin that entered service in 2004.

The system is a GPS/INS guidance kit designed to convert Mark 80-series unguided munitions into guided bombs. It is compatible with Mark 82, Mark 83, and Mark 84 warheads. Guidance is provided by a GPS/INS system, which can be supplemented by the Camgöz laser seeker. This seeker is resistant to countermeasures and provides a wide view angle for target acquisition. The kit enables precision strike capability in all weather conditions at long range. Accuracy is maintained through the integration of satellite and inertial navigation, though the system is also capable of operating using only inertial guidance.

The Turkish Air Force operates the HGK. The kit is integrated into various manned and unmanned aerial platforms, including the F-16, Bayraktar Akıncı, TF-X, Hürjet, Aksungur, and Hürkuş.
