United Kingdom Navy HMS Trenchant Retired

The Royal Navy decommissioned the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered attack submarine HMS Trenchant at Devonport Naval Base on 20 May 2022, together with HMS Talent, according to the Royal Navy as reported by Naval Today and Baird Maritime. Trenchant's operational career ended in 2021. The boat served for 32 years as a hunter-killer submarine, with Spearfish torpedoes and Tomahawk cruise missiles. The Royal Navy said the newer Astute-class submarines had taken over the role.
