Description
Project 11770 Serna-class landing craft destroyed on 7 May 2022 by a Bayraktar TB2 drone strike while berthed at Snake Island. The craft was carrying a Tor-M2 short-range air defense system intended to reinforce the island's defenses. Video footage showed the drone strike igniting the vessel and its cargo. The 61-tonne air-cushion landing craft was one of several Russian attempts to resupply and fortify Snake Island, which Russia ultimately abandoned on 30 June 2022 under sustained Ukrainian pressure.
