Saudi Arabia Navy Al Diriyah Delivered

Navantia delivered Al Diriyah (830), the second of five Avante 2200-class corvettes built for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), on 26 July 2022 in a ceremony at the Naval Base of La Carraca, San Fernando, Cadiz. The corvette, construction number 547, was delivered roughly three years after its first steel cut in May 2019, following sea trials in the Bay of Cadiz. An RSNF-Navantia inspection commission carried out the mandatory review before the commissioning ceremony was held in accordance with military protocol. The 2,200-tonne corvette carries a 76mm Super Rapid gun, Exocet anti-ship missiles and ESSM surface-to-air missiles.
