Saudi Arabia Navy HMS Jazan Commissioned

The fourth Avante 2200 corvette, HMS Jazan (834), was delivered and commissioned at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah on 5 December 2023, Naval News and Navantia reported, in a ceremony presided over by the Saudi Minister of Defence. Launched at Navantia's San Fernando shipyard in July 2021, she was shipped to Saudi Arabia on a heavy-lift vessel for final construction and combat-system integration, part of the programme's transfer of work to the SAMI Navantia joint venture. The 104-metre ship accommodates 102 crew and passengers.
