Description
The fleet replenishment and combat-support ship TCG Derya (A-1590) was commissioned on 19 January 2024 at the Sefine Shipyard in Yalova, in the same ceremony as the frigate TCG Istanbul and the logistics ship TCG Üsteğmen Arif Ekmekçi. Built in Türkiye, Derya is the second-largest vessel in the Turkish Navy after the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu and is intended to refuel and resupply combat units at sea, extending the range and endurance of task groups without port calls, Daily Sabah and Naval News reported.
