Saudi Arabia Navy HMS Unaizah Commissioned

HMS Unaizah (836), the fifth and last Avante 2200 corvette of the Al-Sarawat project, was commissioned into the Royal Saudi Naval Forces at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah on 7 March 2024, Navantia announced. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the president of Navantia. Like her sister Jazan, she was built at San Fernando and completed in Saudi Arabia. Her handover closed the five-ship contract signed in 2018; three further Avante 2200 corvettes were ordered in December 2024.
